ChessBit opens to everyone on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 14:00 UTC. Four hours later, at 18:00 UTC, we run the first event of Opening Day: the Opening Day Freeroll. Registration is open now.
- When: Saturday 24 October 2026, 18:00–19:00 UTC (19:00 Lagos · 20:00 Johannesburg).
- Format: a 60-minute Arena of 3-minute games. When your game ends you get a new opponent straight away, so you play as many games as you can fit in the hour.
- Entry: free. Registering takes nothing from your balance.
- Prizes: $250 to the top 10: 1st $75 · 2nd $50 · 3rd $30 · 4th $20 · 5th $15 · 6th–10th $12 each.
- Sign in at app.chessbit.io, or create an account.
- Open Arena and choose Opening Day Freeroll.
- Tap Register.
Registration works now, while the app is still closed before Opening Day, and stays open until 20 minutes after the start.
The final table is decided by points. Prizes are credited to the winners' balances after our fair-play check (Argus) of the prize winners' games, which runs once the event ends. The Freeroll rules cover who can enter, how ties are broken and everything else.
