Before You Close

  1. Finish or resign any active game — accounts with games in progress or funds locked in stakes can't be closed.
  2. Withdraw your balance — get your funds to your own wallet first. See How to withdraw.
  3. Export your data if you want a copy — your profile offers a data export with your account information and history.

How to Close Your Account

Account closure is handled by our support team:

  • Open a support ticket in-app, message us on Discord, or email support@chessbit.io from your registered address.
  • Tell us you want the account closed. We'll confirm it's you, check for open games or balances, and close it.

What Happens After

  • The account is deactivated and can no longer log in or play.
  • Some records are retained even after closure — as a regulated real-money platform we're required to keep transaction and verification records for the legally mandated period. They're kept encrypted and are not used for anything else.
  • Game records remain in opponents' histories.

Closure is permanent, and any balance you didn't withdraw first may become unrecoverable. Withdraw before you ask us to close the account.
